Growing up I think back fondly to my grandad digging veg from the patch in the garden and the tree-house my dad built for us, which seemed very high at the time. I have carried this affinity to the outdoors throughout my working life and try to bring these same happy memories to people through the work we do today.
At fourteen years old I remember planting hundereds of trees on a very muddy Delapre Golf Course in Northampton for my stepfather's tree nursery, even this didn't seem to dissuade me!
I gained a degree in Fine Art and continue to paint and exhibit to this day. I believe art is fundamental in our lives, as an aesthetically pleasing or stimulating environment can really bring a great deal of pleasure.
I originally started to develop a gardening and landscaping business in order to fund my painting studio, but this quickly grew to become a full-time role looking after both commercial and domestic customers. After a number of years I gained further qualifications in teaching which lead me to become involved in the development of a number of community garden projects and group workshops including; Warwickshire Young Offenders, various primary schools, willow weaving workshops, Leicestershire Autism Outreach Service, the NHS Secure Mental Health Unit and Leicester University Botanical Gardens. Today we are also running woodland fun days within two sites in the Midlands, offering corporate groups the chance to experience the joy of childhood games within a woodland setting. We try to actively promote community involvement where possible within our various parish council and commercial contracts.
I continued to gain further training in arboriculture, attending an evening course over two years for theory based practice while alongside this gaining the relevant qualifications needed to increase the services we offer. Our continual reinvestment in staff training and quality equipment ensures that we are able to offer great value and service to our customers.
Today we are a well-rounded family business with a customer base ranging from the commercial sector to private gardens. No job is too big or too small, we are always happy to help and offer our advice and take great pride in the work we carry out.
